Today Begins Buddhist Lent

 These women are preparing the day before Lent begins.

Banana leaves are carefully folded into objects used in worship.

The women are really getting into it today!

Viola! This is what the finished product looks like.

Meanwhile the guys are building a special man-crafted banana tree.

Sale meetings- usually held in the village temple

33 of 70 families purchased a water filter during a village sales meeting last week! Good work team!

Into the Lao Highways and Byways. (Sending the invitation for a village meeting to learn about clean water)

Normally this is a two person job, but for training, four of us went door to door.

 This sweet lady hardly said a word, but she sat up front during the whole village meeting.

This man was fixing his homemade tool belt, the next day he was a proud owner of a new water filter.

Yeah! I'll come!  

 Most villagers boil the water they drink over wood fires like this one.
