Even though school started up a month ago, Eva's just today heading back to school. This is because after a summer packed full of play with kids from our village but low on family time, the kids were ready for some time with mom and dad. So while all the kids around here went back to school, I took a month or so to give the kids more quality time at home before sending Eva back to school again. This turned out to be just what they needed and was awesome for me too. So now as Eva heads back to school today, she's excited because she has that much more common ground with the kids in school this year and that much more language ability, and I'm happy because I got several weeks with the kids. Here's Eva heading off to school this morning. All smiles!
Nathan picked these up at the market last night, but they're not for dinner! Salumee, Spice, and Swift are our new pet turtles!
These are snapping turtles, yummy to eat I'm told.
The kids tossed them into our "pond" of sorts in the back yard, to join the rest of our backyard pets. 1 frog, 2 turkeys, 3 turtles...and then there's talk of a goat...
