Moving down south...

We're back from Tha Kaek, our soon-to-be new home, and we're so excited to be living in one location longer than a year at a time... or a half year... or a month... or a night!! We'll still be living out of suitcases for some time, but we're closer than ever now and the end is in sight!!!!

"Sleepy" is the best word I can think of for the provincial capital of Tha Kaek. It was easy to feel a sluggishness creeping over us as we explored the city, and we quickly realized that living in this place with full and joyful days is going to require foresight and purpose. It's going to require being "self starters" as individuals and as family and maintaining structure and schedules. Maybe most importantly, it's going to require jumping right into the community and culture and making true friendships with those around us in order to feel connected and less like strangers in a strange place. We're so excited!!!!

wow, yeah, I hear that southern Laos can be pretty quiet and tame. Hope things transition well as you move down to Tha Kaek and dive into building relationships with key people in the community =) Can't wait to hear more about it (in person :)
