we are freezing!!
We arrived in Singapore a few days ago for a few weeks of meetings and decided to come 4-5 days early to get in a little vacation time this year. We're staying at the ymca here, which Eva is loving because it has a pool! Elijah is loving the carpet on the floor and is constantly up on his hands and knees trying to crawl. Nathan and I are loving the feeling of being cold. We are constantly in air conditioning because everywhere has a/c, and it is SO COLD!!!! We've been putting the kids in 2-3 layers of clothes, warm jackets for dinners, and we're bundling up blankets at night. Blankets I'm telling you!! We hear people commenting on the hot weather here being absolutely exhausting... and we're finding it a wonderful break from Laos. I guess we've acclimated more than we'd thought.

festival time!!
Our very first ever promotional event in Tha kaek!!! The End of Buddhist Lent festival is one of the biggest festivals here so LWR (Lao Water Resources) was ready with our presentation, demonstrations, music, skits, break dancing, and LOTS of energy!!! We had a booth for several days with the purpose of highlighting our water filter, along with sanitation and hygiene education. The whole town comes out to celebrate, and we estimate about 2500 people from this small town came by our stage.
A picture of the crowd watching the presentation
Some of our employees in front of the stageWe were right on the waterfront, so the beautiful Mekong River was in the background
A hilarious skit
LWR employees... lots of music and dance

Making cookies w/ the neighbor girls!
No exaggeration, these girls ask me every single day if we're going to make cookies!! And sugar cookies are their absolute favorite. We have a group of four or five girls now who are almost always at our house when they're not in school and often eat meals with us too. We're so lucky b/c they are great girls to have around and Eva especially loves getting all the extra attention :)

eva's space
Eva's been sleeping in her port-a-crib ever since she moved out of her moses basket a very L O N G time ago, and now the day has finally come to move her out of her port-a-crib as well. So we're moving her to a mat on the floor!! I've never seen anything like a toddler bed here but most people sleep on mats anyhow, so she fits right in. When we were in Thailand last week, we bought fun sheets and pillows and made Eva her own special sleeping area, which she LOVES!!
I'm so impressed with her!!! She's working hard to stay in her space when she's supposed to be sleeping, and it's looking like the transition is going to be smooth sailing after all! Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon...
