while the boys are gone...

First time making pancakes on the griddle!

Crafts- one of Eva's all time favorite things to do!

With Elijah gone, these two became quite close, which is different from normal. Eva really went down to Zach's level, and many times I'd hear them laughing and laughing over some crazy game they were playing.

Working in the kitchen might be a close second to crafts for Eva. Here are the sugar cookies we made and are midway through frosting. Check out Zach's face... he pulled a tub over to the table to get up to look. :)

Zach smiles easily and loves to laugh. Here he is with his favorite caribou. I call it a caribou, but then  I'm not entirely sure what a caribou actually looks like.

Eva making last minute adjustments to the picture she drew for Dad and Elijah's return.

Eva hanging out with me as I do some language study. I have a favorite place just a few minutes away, quite and peaceful, for studying on my own. This week and last were the exceptions in having Eva along, but she was awesome and quietly entertained herself.

The craft above led to a new necklace, bracelet, and ring.  I told her that the beads were too big for making a ring, but she's an outside the box thinker, unlike me, and she'll often figure out a way to make things work when I won't even give it a first try. That's what she did here, and it worked perfectly. :)
