Welcome to our barnyard

The back part of our yard is the place where Feather and Bonnie live, as the kids have named our two turkeys. Not too long ago, we had a fence added to divide this area into two parts, and it's a great little area for animals, complete with banana trees and loads of bamboo! Here is Zach heading over to check it all out.

The goats, Bear and Lucy, have taken a liking to the banana trees, maybe because it's a nice shelter from our kids. :) Eva and Elijah did a great job on the goats' first day here, petting them and trying to make friends with them in the banana trees.

Peeking out from the banana trees

Eva spent a lot of time yesterday trying to make friends with the goats and calm them down as they were running all around and generally scaring the kids with their noise. I caught her here trying to pull down some banana leaves to feed to the goats, which they love and have been chomping right down. She stayed with them a long time, petting Bear and Lucy, and trying to quiet them down.

Then she was worried about water so dragged this water bucket over to the goats too. When she was finished, she told me she was a farm girl. That's my girl!
